Dog Information – Dog Breeds – Dogs That Bark Most Often

It is well known that some dog breeds bark more than others. As with all breeds good dog training techniques are required to get good behavior results.  However when it comes to excessive barking it helps to know what breeds are notorious for this behavior before you run out and buy one.

All the dogs listed below are excellent breeds and with the proper positive reinforcement training techniques these will make wonderful canine companions.

Notorious barkers at the top of the list working down to the least:

  • Beagles
  • Cairn Terrier
  • Fox Terrier
  • Miniature Schnauzer
  • Yorkshire Terrier
  • Silky Terrier
  • Toy Poodle

  • Labrador Retriever
  • Rottweiler
  • Chesapeake Bay Retriever
  • Vizsla

This is by no means meant to be a perfect list because obviously every dog has its own personality. However the breeds at the top of the list are known to be notorious for barking while the dogs at the bottom of the list normally are not. Therefore when it comes to barking, a Beagle may take a bit more training than a Bloodhound.
